As a middle income developing country Botswana has been heavily reliant on the Mineral Sector, in particular diamonds, for her development. To counter this, Government has come up with investment strategies to diversify the economy by attracting both domestic and foreign investments into targeted growth sectors such as Manufacturing, Beef, Agriculture, Financial Services, Glass manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Energy and Renewable Energy.
